The pearlescent draped ceiling of Matsuri Victor Hugo

On avenue Victor Hugo, the pinkish beige frontage carries the Matsuri sign in large rounded letters. Under the awning, a banquette, four cylindrical stools in cream and pale yellow and small round tables form a seating corner out front, between two bamboo planters. Inside, the ceiling is made of pearlescent lacquered panels in sky blue, peach and cream, stretched between the beams and reflected from one end of the room to the other by mirror-clad columns. The conveyor belt, lacquered cream and edged with dark wood, turns rounded corners; it is lined with white shell seats with beige pads on metal pedestals. At the back, Japanese enamel signs, calligraphed stoneware bottles and a blue shaved ice machine.
