Glass frontage and pink corridor at Matsuri Marbeuf
Beneath a Parisian building of painted brick with wrought-iron balconies, the illuminated Matsuri sign sits above a fully glazed frontage bearing the gold logo and the kaiten ideograms. Inside, a long pale wood counter runs along a slatted wall, lined with transparent folding chairs tinted pink, green and smoke; a full-height mirror doubles the perspective and the floor is dark terrazzo. The back of the room shifts register: a corridor hung with pink organza voiles leads to a lounge area with a pink banquette and walls covered in vintage Japanese posters. Wooden shelves display ceramics, sake bottles and kokeshi dolls.
