What you need to know about sushi restaurants in Bordeaux

Bordeaux is a city that cultivates a taste for fine things, and Japanese cuisine has found an enthusiastic and loyal following here. At Matsuri, conveyor belt sushi turns every meal into a lively, easy-going experience: the plates follow one another in front of you, generous and varied, and you build your table as your cravings dictate. Sushi, maki, california rolls, ramen... our sushi bar in the centre of Bordeaux is the ideal place to treat yourself to a real culinary escape, alone, as a couple or in a group.

Do you know why kaitenzushi is winning over Bordeaux?

In a city as open to the world as Bordeaux, authentic Japanese cuisine appeals to an ever-wider clientele. The conveyor belt principle is popular for one simple reason: it puts everyone on an equal footing. No complicated ordering, no long wait. You see, you choose, you enjoy. Every plate prepared by our chefs is an invitation to discover new flavours, at your own pace and according to your mood of the moment.

Conveyor belt sushi, a window onto Japan

Behind the kaitenzushi concept lies a distinctly Japanese view of the world: one in which feeding others is done with precision, generosity and respect for the produce. Every nigiri, every maki gliding along the belt says something about this age-old culture, where the gesture counts as much as the taste. Whether you choose to visit us or to order sushi delivery in Bordeaux, that philosophy comes through in every bite.

Matsuri Bordeaux, an essential address for lovers of Japanese cuisine

Located on rue Guiraude in the very heart of Bordeaux, Matsuri has embodied a certain idea of Japanese cuisine since 1998: demanding about freshness, generous in its portions, warm in spirit. Our authentic Japanese restaurant in Bordeaux welcomes families, students and professionals every day, all sharing the same pleasure in eating well in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

A network of Japanese addresses across France

Bordeaux is one stop among many in the Matsuri story. Our brand is present in many French cities and beyond, each one driven by the same passion for Japanese cuisine. To find the restaurant nearest you or to plan your next visit, see our restaurants page.

The gaming room and sushi bar at Matsuri Bordeaux

On rue Guiraude, the room is all about wood: vertical slats from floor to ceiling, a conveyor belt turning a corner, and cylindrical pendants lighting a large composition of Japanese posters and magazine covers. The bar, in stainless steel, announces itself with an illuminated The Original Sushi Bar sign, its bottles chilling in a bucket and its rows of glasses lined up in front of more posters. Beside the belt, a games area brings together three Matsu Gamers arcade cabinets on a stainless steel shelf and four high chrome stools, facing the windows onto the street. Near the entrance, a takeaway counter, dressed in blue with Japanese lettering, presents individual pastries in a display case, under the backlit Matsuri logo.
